Teaching is communication between two or more people who influence each other by Ideas and learn something in the process of interaction. The definition of teaching by different authors is very important.
Definition of Teaching
Teaching is the process of imparting knowledge, skills, and values to others. Teaching is natural orange acquiring skills to transfer ideas, information and content without deserving objectives.
So teaching is a process in which learners, teachers, curriculum and other variables are organised in a systematic way to attain some pre-determined goal.
Teaching is an important part of the process of education. Its special function is to impart knowledge and develop understanding and skill.
Definition of Teaching by Different Authors
Definition of teaching by different authors in a variety of ways, as follows –
i) According to Smith – “Teaching is a system of action intended to induce learning.”
ii) According to Ryburn – “Teaching is a relationship which helps the child to develop his powers.”
iii) H. C. Morrison (1934) defines – “Teaching as an intimate contact between a more mature personality and less mature one, which is designed to further the education of the latter.”
iv) According to N. L. Gage – “Teaching is a form of interpersonal influence aimed at changing the behaviour potential of another person.”
Albert Einstein – “Teaching is a Supreme art to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge.”
v) According to N.L. Gage (1962) – “Teaching is a form of interpersonal influence that aims to change the behaviour potential of another person.”
vi) According to Edmund Amidon (1967) – “Teaching is an interactive process, primarily involving classroom talk, which takes place between teacher and pupil and occurs during certain definable activities.”
vii) According to T.F. Greens (1971) – “Teaching is a task of a teacher, which is performed for the development of a child.”
viii) According to Farrant (1980) – “Teaching is the process that facilitates learning. The teacher has an important role to play because he acts as a catalyst, actively stimulating learning.”
ix) According to James M. Thyne – “All teaching is the promotion of learning.”
x) According to Jackson – “Teaching is a face-to-face encounter between two or more persons, one of whom (teacher) intends to effect certain changes in the other participants (students).”
So teaching is the process of arranging situations in which learning content is brought to the attention of students, their interest is created and desire is awakened, i.e. they are motivated to act.
For example, if we want to teach farmers about the use and benefits of chemical fertilizers, we do this by conducting demonstrations in their fields, showing them how fertilizers are applied, we comparing the yield of fertilized crops.
Crops where no fertilizer has been applied. Farmers are seeing the positive effects of fertilizers. After that, he was reassured. He was inspired to act. He started using fertilizers regularly.

So Teaching is a process that provides guidance and training. It is an interaction between the teacher and the learner and the art of giving knowledge to learners in an effective way.
